- Gemini (New)
So, I am going to share the resetting methods for all of these models, ensuring that this post will be beneficial for all users with any type of DirecTV remote control.

DirecTV remote still not working? – Troubleshooting tips
Battery check-up:- Make sure the batteries are in good health. The universal remote gives the battery a health sign. So, replace the batteries.
Keep a Direct Line of Sight:- Point the DirecTV remote to a direct line of sight to your TV or receiver box. Make sure there is a distance between them that should not exceed 10 or 12 meters.
Check the connection between the TV and the box:- If any loose connection between them happens, your remote won’t work properly. The best thing you can do is, unplug all the cable connections and wait a minute. Carefully and tightly fit them back.
Check for the right pairing codes:- If your DirecTV universal remote does not control the volume, mute, power, or options, re-program it with the right device code. Check the code booklet you got when you bought the remote or refer to the official website to see the code for your television brand.
Switch to the correct mode:- switch to the TV mode if you want to control your TV. Switch back to the receiver box when you want to control the receiver box. In the universal remote, there is a sliding button at the top to do this. On Genie, you can press the corresponding device key to switch to it.
Reset both the set-top box and remote:- None of the given troubleshooting tips doesn’t work, I would recommend you reset both the set-top box and the remote. I already explained how to reset different Directv remote control models. For receivers, there should be a small tiny RED color reset button to do so.
Conclusion
There are a few simple troubleshooting steps you can try if your DirecTV remote is unresponsive. Start by replacing the batteries to rule out a power issue. You can also try resetting it by holding down the mute and select/enter buttons together for 10 seconds. If that doesn’t work, you may need to redo the setup process by going to Menu > Settings > Remote Control > Program Remote on your receiver. Resetting often resolves common issues and gets it working again without needing to replace it.
